It is a wonderful time to be an Indianapolis Colts fan.

Shane Steichen’s club appears to be taking the proper steps toward Super Bowl contention, though it will likely take some time.

Whether or not he wins the Super Bowl, LB Zaire Franklin may feel like the biggest winner on Earth right now.

Shortly after receiving a hefty contract extension, the 27-year-old linebacker celebrated one of his life’s most momentous events.

According to James Boyd of The Athletic, Franklin just married.

He also stated during the NFL Scouting Combine that the best thing that had ever happened to him had not yet occurred, alluding to this upcoming event.

Franklin had one year left on his deal when he agreed to the extension.

He got a three-year agreement worth $31.26 million, so the newlyweds are pretty well set for life.

He was drafted in the seventh round in 2018 and signed a three-year contract extension in 2022.

Franklin has established himself as a team captain and one of the locker room’s most recognized speakers.

He’s also synonymous with durability, having played — literally — all of his team’s defensive snaps two years ago, which is unusual.

Then, the next season, he played 16 of 17 games, accounting for 99% of defensive snaps.

Franklin must be walking on clouds right now, and while training camp is just around the horizon, football may be the last thing on his mind at this time.
