Colts coach on team’s brutal performance…

“It wasn’t us.”

The Indianapolis Colts’ dreams for a playoff spot and a potential AFC South divisional title were dashed this week after the team was defeated 29-10 by the Atlanta Falcons. And it appears that the team recognized it as an outlier performance.

During a recent interview, Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen stated unequivocally that his team’s performance on Sunday was not consistent with how he believes his squad generally performs.

“It wasn’t us,” Steichen told the Indianapolis Colts’ official website. “You know what I mean? It wasn’t us.” You’d rather not see it. You must halt the bleeding, which, once again, must begin with myself. So we need to have that fixed.”

The Colts are still in playoff contention, whether by winning the division or capturing a wild card position. However, after this weekend’s loss, the team simply cannot afford any more losses for the rest of the season.

This weekend, the Indianapolis Colts play the Las Vegas Raiders, followed by a huge AFC South clash with the Houston Texans that might decide the division.
