Cody Drameh believes the Blues can perform better

Cody Drameh felt shortchanged after his trip to Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon.

For moments, the Blues shown the quality that had resulted in straight Sky Bet Championship victories at St. Andrew’s & Knighthead Park, and they rightly went into the break level after Jordan James’ second goal in as many games, reacting to Conor Chaplin’s opener.

However, as both teams threw caution to the wind in their chase of victory, the hosts won thanks to late goals from substitutes Jeremy Sarmiento and Omari Hutchinson.

Drameh spoke to BluesTV after his third consecutive 90-minute outing, expressing his displeasure with how events at Portman Road unfolded.

John Eustace explains Cody Drameh stance as Birmingham City hold Leeds United transfer card - Birmingham Live
“I believe we could have played much better and given them more competition, but we gave it our all today, and it just didn’t work out.

“We are pushing for the game and then we concede the second goal and, obviously, it shifts our mindset and you have to try and go for it.”

Southampton will face another of the second-tier’s automatic promotion prospects when they travel the West Midlands on Saturday, March 2, at 3pm.

Tickets for this match are still available, and Drameh is keen to perform well in front of another partisan B9 crowd.

“We’ll review this game, see what we can improve on, what we did well, and then look forward to Southampton’s return to St. Andrew’s.
