Club Rekindle Serious Interest In Birmingham City Star

Atalanta has renewed their interest in Birmingham City’s 19-year-old midfielder Jordan James ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Serie A club was interested in signing the teenage midfielder in January and approached Birmingham to work out an agreement.

Blues were ready to sell the midfielder but demanded a €10 million sum before committing to do so.

Despite Birmingham’s relegation from the Championship, James continued to excel this season, scoring eight goals in 42 league games.

According to the Italian sports newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport (via Tutto Mercato), Atalanta is once again interested in signing the teenager.

Despite failing to sign James in the winter, they have kept watch of him this season.
Atalanta believed Birmingham was asking for too much money and that James would be available for a reduced sum.

The club intends to contact the League One club again this summer in an effort to land the Welshman.
