Cleveland Browns lead the NFL in terms of players earning more than $10 million
|Looking at every player in the league who makes more than $10 million in 2024 to see how many are on each team.
There are 207 players in the NFL who will make more than $10 million in 2024; let’s look at how these split down by team and how many the Cleveland Browns have compared to the rest of the league.
Here’s a look at the thirteen Cleveland Browns making more over $10 million in 2024:
Deshaun Watson – $46m
Myles Garrett – $20,203,875
Amari Cooper – $20m
Jerry Jeudy – $19m
Joel Bitonio – $16m
Denzel Ward – $15.924m
David Njoku – $14.5m
Jedrick Wills – $14.175m
Wyatt Teller – $14m
Jack Conklin – $13.85m
Nick Chubb – $12.2m
Za’Darius Smith – $12m
Dalvin Tomlinson – $11.585m
Although Delpit is paid $12 million per year under his agreement, he received $6 million of the new deal last year and another $6 million this year, so he is only counting $6 million in cash this year.
The Cleveland Browns have more players earning over $10 million than any other NFL team, more than doubling the league average.
The Patriots, on the other hand, are startlingly low, with just Michael Onwenu, Kyle Dugger, and Hunter Henry making more than $10 million this season.
The Cleveland Browns are achieving this using a sustainable expenditure strategy, which I have examined here. It means they’ll restructure Watson later in the offseason, which isn’t as horrible as some people make it out to be. It is a critical component of increasing their flexibility and sustainability.
People are continually complaining that Andrew Berry isn’t doing enough or that Deshaun Watson’s contract limits what they can do. Based on the facts, anyone who says such is a conspiracy theorist. If you want to see the Cleveland Browns make a splash, they’ll need to get rid of one of these big contracts, which could be Nick Chubb, Amari Cooper, Joel Bitonio, or Wyatt Teller because they’re not guaranteed.
