Cleveland Browns Great Player Buys Into Cavaliers

Even as he dominates against NFL offensive lines, Myles Garrett keeps adding to his portfolio of sports ownership.

The best defensive player for the Cleveland Browns has accepted an offer to buy a stake in the Cleveland Cavaliers of the NBA. Garrett will officially represent the Cavaliers as a brand ambassador as per the terms of the deal.

“Since my first days in Cleveland, I have respected the Cavaliers organization’s perseverance, hard work, and commitment to the community,” Garrett stated. “It is truly a dream come true to have the chance to join this amazing and purpose-driven franchise, led by Dan [Gilbert].”

Garrett’s representative in the deal negotiations was Shey Olaoshebikan of Klutch Sports Group.

Garrett’s second foray into sports franchise ownership is with the Cavaliers.

August saw the addition of NFL players Micah Parsons, Bijan Robinson, and C.J. Stroud, as well as tennis player Taylor Fritz and golfer Scottie Scheffler to the ownership group of Major League Pickleball’s Texas Ranchers, which was formed with the 2017 No. 1 overall draft choice. The Kid LAROI and artist Lil Wayne are now owners of The Ranchers.

Garrett has amassed 7.5 sacks and three forced fumbles this season, making him one of the NFL’s most formidable defensive players. At +200, he and Parsons are tied for the top spot in the defensive player of the year category.
