Chris Davies has already planned out what he desires as manager of Birmingham City

Chris Davies is Birmingham City’s new manager, having left Tottenham Hotspur to lead the Blues in their League One season.

Chris Davies has been named Birmingham City’s new manager ahead of the League One season, leaving Tottenham Hotspur and a coaching post under Ange Postecoglou to take on his first full-time managerial position

Davies has been preparing for this assignment for years. He was forced to retire from playing in his late teens and has worked as a coach for several years, most notably under Brendan Rodgers, whom he accompanied from Swansea to Liverpool, Celtic, and finally Leicester City. Davies has previously stated that he intends to enter management.

Davies, who has previously worked in coaching under some of the most famous names in British football, certainly has ideas about what he plans to implement now that he has been given his first managing opportunity.

“I want an organised club that can be aligned with my vision,” he previously told Coaches Voice. “I believe I have shown myself as a top-level assistant, and I am now ready to take the next step. Alternatively, I may stay as an assistant for a bit longer, depending on the chances that occur.

“I want to establish an environment at the club where there is a desire to improve and succeed while still enjoying what we do. I have a strong drive to win at the highest level.

“I put a lot of attention into my work, but I also want my players to be creative and express themselves. I want a framework on and off the field that provides players with the resources and space they need to thrive. I’ve always been open about my aspirations to become a manager. The next logical step will be to become a head coach or manager, but it must be a good fit for me.
