CHIEFS’ HARRISON BUTKER BLASTED BY KANSAS CITY X ACCOUNT

Harrison Butker was disowned by Kansas City after his controversial graduating address, at least briefly on social media, with the city’s official X account criticizing the Chiefs kicker amid the reaction… Before subsequently making an apology.

The @KansasCity page, which wears the gray badge for government-verified handles, shaded the hell out of the three-time Super Bowl champion on Wednesday… stating, “Just a reminder that Harrison Butker lives in the City of Lee’s Summit.”

Lee’s Summit is about a half-hour drive from Kansas City and 20 minutes from Arrowhead Stadium. Essentially, the account was stating “dude’s not one of us!!!”

Whether it was intended as a joke or not, the account later deleted the remark, writing, “We apologise (sic) for our prior tweet. It was shared in error.”

Of course, Butker has been the target of criticism following his lecture at Benedictine College in Kansas, which touched on hot button issues like as abortion, the LGBTQ+ community, Covid, and a woman’s vocation as a homemaker and mother.

The guy even brought Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, into the conversation, using one of her song lyrics to make his point.

Butker was not just targeted by the city’s X account; the Los Angeles Chargers also mocked him with their Sims-themed schedule reveal, which included him cooking in the kitchen.

The NFL’s Chief Diversity Officer, Jonathan Beane, addressed the issue with Outsports, saying, “Harrison Butker gave a speech in his personal capacity.”

“His opinions do not represent the NFL as an organization. The NFL remains unwavering in its commitment to inclusion, which only strengthens our league.”

Butker has yet to address the criticism.
