Chiefs GM Explains Why The Team Drafted Xavier Worthy

This year’s NFL Draft saw the Kansas City Chiefs make a huge move by selecting another quick wide out.

Texas drafted receiver Xavier Worthy with the 28th overall pick.

This year, he set the NFL Scouting Combine record for the 40-yard sprint (4.21 seconds).

Brett Veach, the team’s general manager, was recently asked on SiriusXM NFL Radio about Worthy’s pick.

“Everyone will notice the 4.21 speed…”We got the impression that, mentally, he can handle a lot,” Veach remarked.

Imagine thinking that the Chiefs improved this offseason.

That comes after winning consecutive Super Bowls.

They have now gone even deeper on offense.

This offseason, they added two wide receivers: 1,000-yard veteran “Hollywood” Brown and All-American Worthy.

Oh, and Patrick Mahomes is still the quarterback.

This is what teams are going to have to face this year as Kansas City goes for the three-peat.

DeSean Jackson will be a worthy addition to this club.

He can extend the field and create opportunities for other receivers.

Rest confident, Andy Reid will have some unique plays planned for Worthy and Mahomes.

It’s safe to argue that Kansas City has done a fantastic job replacing Tyreek Hill.

In fact, folks are correct to claim victory when everyone else claimed defeat when he left for Miami.
