Chiefs DL arrested for domestic violence and burglary

Isaiah Buggs, a defensive lineman with the Kansas City Chiefs, was arrested on a domestic violence/burglary charge and booked into Tuscaloosa County (Ala.) Jail on Sunday.

Buggs, 27, was jailed on a $5,000 bond. It is unknown whether he has been released from custody.

Buggs was arrested less than three weeks after turning himself in to the same jail on misdemeanor animal cruelty charges. He was later released on $600 bond after being charged with two charges of second-degree canine cruelty. Buggs’ agent released a statement at the time, claiming that the player “vehemently denies” the charges and that the dogs did not belong to him.

Buggs, a former Alabama player, is starting his sixth season in the NFL. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft and spent three seasons with the team. After two seasons with the Detroit Lions, Buggs joined Kansas City’s practice squad in January. The Chiefs re-signed him to a futures contract in February.

In 56 career games, Buggs has 89 total tackles, 12 quarterback hits, four tackles for loss, and two sacks.

The Chiefs completed required minicamp last week.
