Chelsea’s keen on Nottingham Forest key man valued at £70 million

Chelsea are considering selling Trevor Chalobah to West Ham United in order to bankroll the acquisition of Nottingham Forest’s Brazilian centre-back, Murillo.

Murillo, who joined Nottingham Forest from Corinthians last summer, has piqued Chelsea’s interest with his impressive displays in his first season in England. Chelsea’s £70 million bid for Murillo has prompted them to offer Chalobah to Forest in a swap deal.

According to sources, Forest has declined the exchange agreement, indicating that they are not interested in such an arrangement. Chelsea is hoping to transfer Chalobah to West Ham, who are looking for one or two central defenders.

Chalobah, who can play both centre-back and right-back, is offered for sale. The sale of Chalobah, an academy product, would benefit Chelsea under Premier League profitability and sustainability standards, as profits from academy players are deemed pure profit. The accounting deadline for these transactions is Sunday.

West Ham appear to have little or no interest in Chalobah, although Max Kilman remains firmly on their radar.
