TWTD hears that clubs from the Championship and League One are interested in loaning Blues midfielder Cameron Humphreys.

Humphreys is one of a handful of young players at Portman Road who are expected to move out on loan to acquire first-team experience in 2024-25.

The 20-year-old appeared to be on his way to a loan move in January, but he ended up staying with the Blues because he was needed to cover for Leif Davis in his secondary duty at left-back.

Overall, he made only one start and two substitute appearances in the Championship in 2023/24 after establishing himself in the first-team squad in League One the previous season, where he made ten starts and came off the bench eleven times. He appeared regularly in the cup both seasons.

With opportunities likely to be restricted in the coming season, a year on loan appears to be his next step, with clubs from both the Championship and League One approaching the Blues.

Centre-half Elkan Baggott appears to be in line for another loan stint.

The Indonesian international spent the second half of last season with Bristol Rovers, and manager Matt Taylor acknowledged in April that he would like Baggott to return this season.

However, the Pirates are expected to face opposition from a number of other teams, including Blackpool.

Keeper Cieran Slicker has stated that his next move will be a loan spell with one of several Scottish clubs interested in the Scotland U21 international, including Partick Thistle, Ross County, and Kilmarnock.
