Cardinals Added A Player To Roster From IR

RB Tony Jones was added back to the practice squad for Sunday’s game.

James Conner is another important offensive component that the Cardinals will have back on Sunday in addition to Kyler Murray.

In order to allow the seasoned running back to return to action on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, the Cardinals formally activated him from Injured Reserve on Saturday.

Murray will make his quarterbacking comeback this season as well.

Coach Jonathan Gannon stated, “(Conner) is our workhorse in the run game and it will be good to get him back.” “It helps not only Kyler, it helps our team.”

In addition, Tony Jones, a running back who was released earlier in the week, was added back to the practice squad by the Cardinals, who will also start Jones on the field on Sunday. Jackson Barton, an NFL tackle, has also been promoted for Sunday.

Offense lineman Vitaliy Gurman was released by the Cardinals to make room for Jones on the practice squad.

After a 35-yard run in Week 5 against the Bengals, Conner was out with 364 yards and 5.4 yards per carry. The other Cardinals running backs are only averaging 3.3 yards per carry on the season, and between them, they have 312 total rushing yards.

As a result of a toe injury, rookie Emari Demercado will miss his second straight game. Jones and Keaontay Ingram will be Conner’s backups.

Center Hjalte Froholdt remarked, “J.C. is definitely a force to reckon with when he’s in there.” “He bolts, as if his hair were on fire. Blocking for him is enjoyable because, despite his potential for dire play, you can always count on him to drop his head and avoid a tackle.

HUMPHRIES FINED

NFL player D.J. Humphries, who avoided a fine a few weeks prior following his ejection in Seattle, was fined $16,391 for needless roughness. Although Humphries did not make contact with Browns end Myles Garrett on the replay, he was apparently fined for diving at his knees during a low block. Humphries was not flagged during the play.
