BYU is scheduled to face the top five teams in the Big 12 preseason poll. On the positive side, BYU will face the majority of those teams at home. The Cougars will play Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Kansas, and Arizona at home. Utah is the lone top five club that BYU will face on the road.

Other 2024 opponents include UCF, Baylor, Houston, and Cincinnati. UCF is the only team ranked in the middle of the preseason poll. The remainder of the teams are in the lower half of the rankings. If BYU wants to return to bowl eligibility in 2024, games against Arizona State and Houston look like must-wins.

The Big 12 media days will take place over two days at Allegiant Stadium. Arizona State, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech, and Utah will compete on July 9, with Arizona, Baylor, BYU, UCF, Colorado, Houston, Kansas, and West Virginia taking the stage on July 10.
