BYU Football Fixtures Home-and-Home Series Against Colorado State

BYU football will play a future home-and-home series with Colorado State, Colorado State athletics announced on Wednesday.

On September 19, 2026, BYU will travel to Colorado State to face the Rams. Colorado State will return to Provo a few years later, on September 8, 2029.

These will be BYU’s first football games against Colorado State since 2010, when both institutions were members of the Mountain West Conference. BYU and Colorado State were league opponents for many years. The two programs have met off 69 times. BYU currently has a seven-game winning run over the Rams, dating back to 2004.

Colorado State is the third nonconference game on BYU’s 2026 schedule. That season, the Cougars will also play Utah Tech and USF at home. The BYU-USF game was initially slated for mid-October, therefore it is likely to be rescheduled, postponed, or cancelled. Every year, BYU tries to include at least one non-conference Power Four opponent on their schedule. As of this writing, BYU does not have a non-conference Power Four team on their schedule. BYU may cancel the game against USF if it can find a P4 team to play in 2026.

In 2029, BYU had one non-conference game scheduled: a road game against Ole Miss. However, the game was also scheduled for September 8th. So the game between BYU and Ole Miss was either rescheduled or cancelled. No other non-conference games are scheduled for the 2029 season.
