Arijanet ‘Aro’ Muric, a goalkeeper for Burnley and a Premier League backup, may be playing in the Champions League in 2024 if Union Berlin signs a January deal with them.

James Trafford may have gained notoriety during England’s successful U21 European Championship campaign with that penalty save, but Burnley’s decision to invest £19 million in a player who was playing third-tier football on loan at Bolton Wanderers just last season was not primarily motivated by his track record from 12 yards.

Trafford is the epitome of a contemporary, ball-playing goalkeeper, as one might anticipate from a man who developed his skills in Manchester City’s space-age academy. a shot-blocker with playmaker-caliber passing range.

Trafford followed in the footsteps of Aro Muric, another Man City graduate, when he moved to Turf Moor over the summer. Aro Muric may depart Burnley for the Bundesliga. Since then, the former has replaced the latter between the sticks. Sky Germany thinks that Muric’s future at Burnley is now in doubt as a result.

Muric, who was one of the first names on Kompany’s team sheet as Burnley easily won the Championship, is currently idling on the bench as perennial underachievers Union Berlin offer themselves as a potential exit strategy before the January transfer window.

Sky claims that Union wants Muric on loan with a purchase option in his deal.

Champions League to Premier League

If Burnley consents, Before letting the Kosovan go, Kompany would demand a replacement. Even though Union Berlin’s group-stage defeats to Real Madrid and Braga threatened to spring open a trapdoor under their feet, Muric might be joining a club dancing on the Champions League stage.

However, finding first-team football would not necessarily be any easier in the German city. Frederick Ronnow, a former target of Nottingham Forest, is one of Union’s underestimated goalkeepers in all of European soccer.
