Burnley manager Vincent Kompany claims pressure “motivates” him as he anticipates a new stage

Vincent Kompany, the leader of Burnley, claims he has the character to handle any pressure that comes with finishing last.

As Manchester City captain, Kompany won numerous titles and guided Burnley to the Championship crown the previous year, but this season has seen The Clarets win just four of their twelve games.

‘You’re asking the wrong person about feeling pressure,’ the laid-back Belgian shot back ahead of the match at Turf Moor against West Ham.

“I can handle pressure pretty well as a person.” It almost seems to motivate me even more.

It’s true that it feels like the season is changing, and I have to admit that I’m really looking forward to it.

I really like seeing these men work out every day and witnessing their abilities. I just want it to be available for viewing on the weekend. I’m confident that we will be alright.

Burnley, who lost their opening six home games of the season to become the first top-flight team in history, will get a chance to redeem themselves when Sheffield United visits after The Hammers.

To maintain his team in the division, Kompany is getting ready for a fight that will last until the end of the season.

“Managers I’ve spoken to have told me their stories about staying up late.” And none of those tales are simple,” he remarked.

All of them have to do with drama or some type of season-long comeback. Indeed, that is our main priority.

“Having consistency, being willing to make sacrifices, and working hard are all necessary for success.” I’ve only ever been successful in my life and career because of how I handle myself during the week and when I cross that boundary as a player or manager.

James Trafford, the goalkeeper for the England under-21s, preserved a clean sheet midweek, which gives Kompany hope after a challenging beginning to his Premier League career. However, Lyle Foster, the striker, is still unavailable because his mental health and welfare come first.

Despite Everton’s 10-point deduction, Burnley is still last in goal differential and just two points above safety with Luton in 17th place with six points.
