A Bundesliga team has expressed interest in recruiting one of Nottingham Forest’s Steve Cooper players.

The Reds are essentially secured a place in the Premier League, and preparations for next season can now begin.

The defeat to Chelsea wasn’t ideal at the weekend, but with Luton and Burnley also losing, Forest are almost safe.

The club’s recruitment squad will look for new players for Nuno Espirito Santo, with an emphasis on outgoings.

Before the season ends and attention turns to transfers, one Forest player has been the target of an investigation.

Augsburg make enquiry for Forest goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos

According to a recent source, Augsburg is hoping to sign a goalkeeper this summer.

According to the Augsburger Allgemeine, the squad in 10th place in the German top flight has now inquired about Forest goalkeeper Vlachodimos.

The Greece number one joined Forest on transfer deadline day during the summer transfer window of 2023.

Vlachodimos cost Forest £4.2 million and was expected to be the club’s first-choice goalkeeper this season.

However, things did not go as planned, and after five games in the team, he was dropped following a 5-0 defeat against Fulham.

Since joining the club in January, Matz Sels has been demoted to third-choice goalkeeper at Forest.

At 29 years old, that is doing no one any favors, and the writing appears to be on the wall for Vlachodimos in Trentside.

Club have to learn from Vlachodimos signing

Last summer, the Reds learned a lot from their recruitment.

Callum Hudson-Odoi, Anthony Elanga, and Murillo are among the players who have made an impression since their signings.

Last summer’s goalkeeper recruiting, however, was a disaster.

Matt Turner has cost the team multiple points, and Vlachodimos was on the team for four consecutive losses when Cooper was in charge.

Sels has been impressive since his arrival, although Forest have now employed six goalkeepers since winning promotion.

The signing of Vlachodimos does not appear to be very strategic, and Forest will want to learn from this addition this summer.
