Buckeyes’ defensive lineman will remain at Ohio State

Several Ohio State Buckeyes are reportedly considering returning for the 2024 season.

And the first domino in that process dropped on Wednesday, when outstanding defensive lineman Tyleik Williams announced his plan to return to Ohio State for his fourth season. On X, Williams made his announcement.

First and foremost, I’d like to thank the man upstairs for everything he’s done for me and the road he’s placed me on. Despite the fact that it’s been a difficult road with many ups and downs, I’ve appreciated every minute of it. Next, I’d like to thank my family for being there for me every step of the way and for being my encouragement to keep going.

Finally, I’d like to thank Ohio State for everything, for having the best band and supporters in the world. Thank you for welcoming me in and allowing me to put on the jersey and represent you guys. I’ll never forget the memories you’ve given me. That’s because….. | WE HAVEN’T FINISHED MAKING THEM YET YEAR 4 LET’S DO IT!

Williams, who was anticipated as a Day 2 pick, made 54 tackles, five pass deflections, ten tackles for loss, three sacks, and a forced fumble in 2023. In his career, he has nine sacks and 19 tackles for loss.

Williams was one-half of one of the top defensive tackle duos in the Big Ten, along with Mike Hall Jr., who had already declared for the draft.
