The Bruins added a netminder to their training camp roster on Thursday.

It wasn’t Jeremy Swayman.

Boston general manager Don Sweeney announced Thursday that the team has signed goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo to a professional tryout agreement (PTO).

Kaskisuo, 30, appeared in a few games with the Laval Rocket of the AHL in the 2023-24 season, posting a 7-4-0 record with a 2.90 goals against average and a.909 save percentage. He has appeared in 108 career AHL games, going 53-36-10 with a 2.68 goals against average and a.909 save percentage.

The Vantaa, Finland native has appeared for both the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Nashville Predators.

Sweeney said Wednesday that Swayman will not report to training camp until his new contract is signed. The Bruins remain “optimistic” that a contract can be reached, but until then, they will have to rely on Joonas Korpisalo, Brandon Bussi, and now Kaskisuo to fill out the depth chart.
