Bruins players share injuries following  postseason run ends

The Boston Bruins, like almost every other team that made the Stanley Cup playoffs, struggled with injuries during the postseason.

Some injuries resulted in missed games, such as Brad Marchand’s two-game absence in Boston’s second-round series against the Florida Panthers. Others were dealt with while still in the lineup, such as Jake DeBrusk’s fractured hand from earlier in the season.

Details about NHL injuries are often kept under wraps until the season is ended. So, two days after the Bruins were eliminated from the playoffs, players finally opened up about their individual ailments.

Here is a list of players that revealed an injury to reporters on Sunday:

Matt Grzelcyk: Torn oblique early in the season
Derek Forbort: Surgeries on both groins, thumb ligament repair
Hampus Lindholm: Knee injury sustained in February
Danton Heinen: “Lingering” injury in playoffs
David Pastrnak: Groin issues

Some Boston Bruins players who will be free agents also shared their thoughts on the upcoming summer. Both Jeremy Swayman and Pat Maroon showed a strong desire to continue playing in Boston.
