Brad Marchand, the Bruins captain, tells up about some of his most memorable experiences on the ice throughout his career.

Brad Marchand, the Boston Bruins forward, has had his moments in the NHL. He has had some great ones, such as winning the Stanley Cup in seven games against the Vancouver Canucks in 2011, but he has also had some on-ice moments that he regrets.

Marchand spoke on the “What Chaos!” show and recounted some of his “dumbest moments,” and a couple of instances arose in which he addressed one of his career’s most controversial incidents.

Brad Marchand discuss controversial moments of his career to date

Marchand discussed some of his most controversial events from his playing career, the most notable of which occurred during the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs between the Boston Bruins and the Tampa Bay Lightning. After a whistle in Game 4, Marchand and Ryan Callahan got together, and the Bruins captain licked the former Tampa Bay right wing’s face.

“I mean, a very blatant, obvious one would probably be the Callahan one.”

It’s been nearly six years since that happened, but it still comes up on social media. To make matters worse, Callahan served as an analyst for ESPN during the Bruins’ second-round matchup against the Florida Panthers this spring.

Marchand also mentioned one of his more recent highlights from a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on February 8, 2022, at the TD Garden. After the whistle, Marchand hit Pittsburgh goaltender Tristan Jarry in the head with his stick. He then swung his stick at Jarry’s face during a Penguins victory. Marchand was suspended for six games after the incident.

Marchand has improved his game over the years and is now captain and leader of the only side he has ever played for. The 36-year-old has played over 1,000 games in the Spoked-B, and while he has had his times, he has been a major contributor to their success over the last decade.
