The Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars’ injury reports on Friday included a surprise that was not mentioned during practice or during head coach Kevin Stefanski’s press conference.
The injury report for the Cleveland Browns’ game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Friday had a few of surprises. Dawand Jones, an offensive tackle, did not participate due to a knee injury, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. Safety Grant Delpit was not called up, although he did not practice and is now listed on the injury report with a knee and no designation.
It will be interesting to see if the Browns opt to activate another safety before Sunday’s game. If they activated someone like Duron Harmon, it could indicate that Delpit’s role will be curtailed or eliminated totally.
Meanwhile, the Browns received some good news when wide receiver Amari Cooper practiced. Stefanski stated that if he clears the procedure before Sunday’s game, he may be able to participate. Marquise Goodwin, another receiver who has been out with a concussion for several weeks, returned to practice and participated fully, clearing him to play in this game as well. This could be beneficial on offense.
Aside from whether quarterback Trevor Lawrence will play, the Jaguars are dealing with a few other difficulties. Christian Kirk, the wide receiver, was placed on injured reserve, but he was never anticipated to participate in this game. The offensive line is the most pressing concern. With a hamstring issue, Jaguars tackle Walker Little has been ruled out. Cam Robison, the starting left tackle, is out with an injury. That begs the question of who will play left tackle opposite Myles Garrett.
