Browns Send Joe Flacco a Message Following Their Loss to the Rams

Although Joe Flacco had a strong showing in the Cleveland Browns’ 36-19 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, the team has not committed to having him start as their quarterback moving forward.

Flacco completed the game with two touchdowns and 254 yards on 23 of 44 passes. In the fourth quarter, his lone error happened at the wrong moment. In search of Elijah Moore, he fired up a deep pass, but Rams safety John Johnson III intercepted it.

After Johnson recovered the interception 42 yards, the Browns’ season took a turn for the worse. At the time of the interception, Cleveland was only down 20-19, but Los Angeles scored 16 straight points to win the game.

Although Flacco’s interception was poor, it gave the Browns a spark at quarterback that they haven’t had much of this season. Stefanski refused to support Flacco as the starting quarterback moving forward, despite that.

“I won’t delve into that,” Stefanski declared following the defeat. “I felt he had a clear perspective and made wise choices. fulfilled our expectations of him.

Although Flacco is unsure of his future in Cleveland, it is obvious that he wants to be involved.

“I believe that once you experience playing football, you should pursue it for as long as you can,” stated Flacco.

The rookie Dominican Thompson-Robinson, who was sidelined for the game because of a concussion, is the backup. This week, Thompson-Robinson was under concussion protocol; nonetheless, he was not cleared to play. Although his condition is still unknown, he should be cleared for the Jacksonville Jaguars game the following week.

Although Thompson-Robinson adds a little more movement, he lacks Flacco’s offensive mastery and has made rookie errors.

Joe Flacco Takes Blame for Costly Interception

Flacco did not hesitate to accept responsibility for the interception that turned the tide of the game.

I’m just angry with myself. I am certain I can win the game. “I’m just disappointed in myself,” Flacco remarked in his thought process. “I don’t think it’s possible to sit there and think about the good things right now.”

Despite the expense, the matchup had some advantages. Flacco found nine different players to catch passes. With four receptions for 83 yards, Elijah Moore—a former teammate of Flacco on the New York Jets—had his greatest outing of the year.

Even more astounding was Flacco’s performance over the majority of the game without using Amari Cooper. Due to a concussion, the seasoned receiver left the game in the first half.

Without a doubt, Cooper has been the most productive wide receiver for the Browns. In terms of receptions (49) and yards (799), he leads the Browns. In addition, he is the only receiver on the team with a catch average of more than ten yards.

Myles Garrett Comments on Joe Flacco’s Performance

After signing with the Browns on November 20, Flacco had little time to become familiar with the playbook. Myles Garrett, a great defensive lineman for the Browns, praised Flacco’s performance against the Rams.

For his first out, Garrett said, “He did well and ran the offense pretty well.” We can all always do better, that much is true. However, we still need to make plays in the final moments.

This season, the Browns’ defense has been able to save the club in a number of difficult situations, but they are also suffering with some ailments. Veteran safety Rodney McLeod is gone for the season due to a bicep injury, while star cornerback Denzel Ward has missed the previous two games due to a shoulder issue.

Cleveland gave up 399 total yards of offense to the Rams. The Jaguars, who score 23.1 points per game on average, present them with another challenging test the following week.
