Browns Require Additional Details Regarding Deshaun Watson’s Ankle Injury

After the Browns’ victory against the Ravens, Watson was observed wearing a walking boot, but he declared he would be fit for the team’s Week 11 matchup with Pittsburgh.

Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is suffering with yet another injury just two weeks after making his comeback from a rotator cuff injury.

This time, it’s an ankle that was hurt during the first half of the Browns’ Sunday 33-31 victory over Baltimore. Moreover, it seems he might be able to participate in Week 11 despite having only missed one play due to an injury.

The Browns are still “gathering information” about the condition, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, in order to decide if Watson will play this weekend against the Steelers.

Rapoport does point out that Watson’s Sunday return to action was a positive indication that his ailment might not be too serious. Additionally, he stated that Cleveland is being extremely cautious with their star quarterback after initially pushing him back onto the field before his shoulder was completely healed.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski disclosed to the media on Monday that Watson had undergone an MRI, but he would not provide any other details. He did say that when the team returns to practice on Wednesday, he’ll know more about the extent of the injury.

after his postgame press conference, the 28-year-old was observed wearing a walking boot. He said that he had been hurt late in the second quarter after a play where Jadeveon Clowney had sacked him. After landing awkwardly on Watson’s ankle during the play to bring him down, the former Brown did apologize.

Watson also made it clear that he would be “ready to go” when the Browns play Pittsburgh the following week. But Cleveland has already learned this season that Watson’s declaration of being able to play and Cleveland’s willingness to let him to play are two different things.
