The Cleveland Browns’ active roster did not include Deon Jackson for very long.

Before Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, Jackson was added to the Browns’ active roster; however, he was dismissed on Monday.

Kareem Hunt suffered a thigh injury, thus Jackson was added as insurance. However, Jackson did not play in the game against his old team, the Colts.

Jackson might be able to make it back onto the Browns practice squad if he clears waivers. With the Colts, he started the first game and saw 13 touches. Jackson only managed to gain 14 yards on those efforts, though.

The Browns now have a roster space available, which they might use for quarterback PJ Walker. After using up all three of his practice squad promotions, the backup quarterback for the Browns will need to be added to the active roster in order to take over as the team’s backup quarterback.

Walker helped lead the club to victory over the Colts by filling in for an injured Deshaun Watson. He threw an interception and completed 47% of his passes for 178 yards.

It’s possible that the Browns are waiting to officially start Walker in order to perhaps negotiate a deal for a different backup quarterback option.

Kareem Hunt Rises to Occasion on Game-Winning Carry

With a thigh injury, Hunt was questionable to play against the Colts, but he was unstoppable when he got the ball on a fourth down with the game in the balance.

With just over 15 seconds remaining, Hunt managed to catch what would wind up being the game-winning carry after three unsuccessful pass attempts and make it into the end zone. Hunt gained 31 yards and two touchdowns on just ten carries.

Hunt declared, “On that play, it’s all or nothing.” “I refused to be turned down. The game needed to be won. The line performed a fantastic job of releasing the ball. Everyone was excited about it. We had been anticipating it.

The Browns were set up at the 1-yard line, but as Hunt pointed out, it felt like a very long yard considering what was at stake.

Hunt said, “The longest yard you’ll ever find.” “I notice a small furrow, and Wyatt turns around. I say, ‘Okay, Wyatt, it’s just the two of us. I’m just going to focus on trying to find a solution.

“I knew I had arrived when I extended my hand a little to grab the ball. My shoulders were fully across. I was aware. The referee immediately made the signal when I looked at him.

Browns RB Jerome Ford to Miss Time

The Browns’ 150 rushing yards were essentially the result of a group effort. Jerome Ford, who scored a touchdown in the first quarter from 69 yards out, was mostly responsible for it.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Ford departed the game with an ankle injury and is anticipated to miss one to two weeks.

Hunt will now be the starting lead back for the Browns, with Pierre Strong Jr. serving as the primary backup. Due to a catastrophic knee injury he sustained in Week 2, Pro Bowl back Nick Chubb has already been sidelined for the whole Cleveland season.

Against the Colts, Strong attempted eight passes for a season-high 25 yards.
