Broncos WR Discusses Courtland Sutton’s Absence From OTAs

His place as the Denver Broncos’ premier wide receiver was never in question.

However, with Jerry Jeudy no longer on the premises, Courtland Sutton has become even more essential to the team.

He knows it, which is why he’s using the majority of his leverage to collect the money he believes he’s entitled to.

Sutton has been absent from the Broncos’ OTAs as he seeks a new contract, but has been unsuccessful.

With that in mind, teammate wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. expressed his support for him, calling him a leader and a fantastic player who makes difficult receptions look simple, and added that he was looking forward to seeing him again (via Zac Stevens).

Right now, it is doubtful that Sutton will choose to hold out until he receives a new deal, but these situations may quickly get complicated.

Despite having a poor quarterback situation for the majority of his career, he’s still able to put up large statistics, and he’s certainly destined to be a WR1.

Sean Payton’s team enters a new era.

The head coach will have the opportunity to fully implement his system in his second season in command of the squad, and Bo Nix will need their greatest receiver to be in a position to flourish as a rookie.

Hopefully, they’ll be able to resolve this issue sooner rather than later, as the clock ticks.
