Brighton and Celtic are interested in Leicester City £40m rated player

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is a player in high demand right now, and given Brighton’s recent interest in him in January, speculation about him will undoubtedly return this summer, with a price tag of £40 million already set.

Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea may explore the Leicester midfielder as a transfer target this summer.

Leicester cannot afford to buy players without allowing some of its present squad members leave, both in terms of first-team players and getting the best incoming deals completed.

Matt O’Riley was listed as a possible target last summer, but with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall already at the club, he would be unnecessary, as the two cover the same position, and a transaction would be impossible to complete without a clear priority. To get O’Riley, KDH and maybe Bouba Soumare must be sold.

We believe the Danish international will fit into the Leicester system and be a terrific new addition if he joins, but other Premier League clubs, like Leeds and Fulham, will undoubtedly be interested in signing him.

The 1.89m midfielder is currently progressing at Celtic; under Brendan Rodgers’ management, he has thrived even more this season than previously, both in Europe and in the Scottish Premiership.

The pleasure of being given a shot in the Premier League would be the next step, and he would be in excellent company at Leicester, where other Danes Jannik Vestergaard and Mads Hermansen are expected to be part of the squad next season.

Matt O’Riley’s contract runs until the summer of 2027; he is 23 years old and would be a great addition for Leicester as they try to return to Premier League action next season.
