Brendan Rodgers commends the “analytically brilliant” coach that came with him from Leicester

This season, Brendan Rodgers has talked a lot about his backroom team at Celtic, emphasizing the effort they put in to help him both on the touchline and in Lennoxtown.

Any competent manager is aware that in order to find success in football teams, they require an excellent support team. When he was working at the club, Ange Postecoglou would always be the first to bring that up.

Rodgers has been the same way, and this past weekend revealed some details about the workings of the Celtic team dynamics while also verifying that analyst Jack Lyons is employed and works closely with the starting lineup.

The club, which has adopted a rather low-key approach to disclosing details about the manager’s entourage, never confirmed reports from the summer that Lyons would be appointed following Rodgers’ arrival.

Lyons worked as an opposition commentator at Celtic during Rodgers’ first stint with the Bhoys before moving to Leicester City in 2019. He is currently actively involved in determining the first team’s course.

Brendan Rodgers lauds Celtic staff

The Scotsman quoted Rodgers as saying, “I’ve been impressed with all the coaches.” I saw during my first spell that John Kennedy is a bright person. He has an amazing thirst for knowledge and growth and is an excellent coach. He puts up the most effort in football of anyone I’ve ever seen. He is a good man aside from all of that. a devoted man.

“I was unaware of Gavin and Harry.” Before starting the job, I had a conversation with Harry in my southern home. He is very good at helping all of our wingers at Celtic, and I have to add that for a man who was a world-class player in his prime, he is very brilliant at what he does. And in my opinion, ex-players like him give you that extra piece of brilliance. He is beneficial to our team and offers an alternative perspective. He shares that with the players.

“Gavin has wonderful human qualities, is a very hard worker, and is an excellent coach.” He supports the players no matter what. And Jack Lyons, of course. I brought in Jack as a bright young coach with exceptional analytical skills. He is able to analyze and convey that to players as well.

After submitting a strong online analytical blog that was seen by both club employees and subsequently Rodgers, Lyons received his big break at Celtic.
