Breaking: West Ham in the battle to land Pep Guardiola favorite man

Manchester City has demonstrated in recent summer transfer windows that it has no qualms about selling players to rival Premier League clubs.

For example, the Blues have sold players like Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus to other top-tier clubs.

Despite their unconcerned approach to strengthening their Premier League competitors, Pep Guardiola’s side has remained the dominant power in English football, becoming the first team to win four league titles in a row in the previous season.

With the latest summer transfer window begun, another of City’s Premier League teammates has entered the hunt to sign one of the Manchester club’s present players.

West Ham United join the race to sign Sergio Gomez

According to a recent report from Caught Offside, West Ham United, along with Roma, Real Sociedad, Real Betis, and Sevilla, are interested in signing Sergio Gomez from City this summer.

The Spaniard was bought from Anderlecht by the Citizens for £11 million during the summer transfer window in 2022.

The 23-year-old has made 38 appearances for the Blues in all competitions, but has only started 14 of them.

In reality, during City’s previous Premier League season, the full-back played a total of 48 minutes, with six substitute appearances.

City should sell Gomez

Even though Gomez stated in July that he has loved working with and learning from Guardiola, a move away from City this summer to a team where he is more likely to play frequently could be the greatest next step for him and his career.

Now that West Ham are reportedly interested in signing Gomez, we believe that if the Hammers or any other club presents City with a suitable offer for the defender, the Premier League champions should look to move him on so he can hopefully become a prominent figure in another team.
