Breaking: Preston North End Eyeing Nottingham Forest Player

Preston North End has been connected with Lewis O’Brien, however it is understood the Lilywhites have yet to register an interest in the Nottingham Forest player.

O’Brien spent the season on loan at Middlesbrough, where he made 23 appearances before missing five months due to an Achilles injury. This summer, he has been linked with PNE and Sheffield United, though any return to the Riverside has been played down. Preston could target midfield.

However, the Lancashire Post is not aware of any North End approach or definite interest at this time. The midfielder thrived in the Championship with Huddersfield Town, earning a move to newly promoted Forest in the summer 2022.

He made 17 appearances for the club in his debut season, with a January loan transfer to Blackburn Rovers falling through owing to a paperwork error. He then spent four months with DC United, playing 18 games. O’Brien is under contract with the City Ground until 2026.

In April, he remarked of his future, “I don’t know, I’ll have to see what happens over the summer.” I’ve had a great time both at Boro and while playing. If the circumstances are appropriate, I would undoubtedly like to return here.”
