Breaking: Ohio State Buckeyes’ Leading Sacker Reveals His Plans for 2024

The 2023 season for the Ohio State Buckeyes was unimpressive.

They finished the season 11-2. They failed to win the Big Ten East for the third time in a row and did not qualify for the College Football Playoff.

This season, their defense fared admirably. They allowed the third-fewest yards per game (265.4) and the second-fewest points per game (11.2).

Their leading sacker announced his 2024 season ambitions.

The best edge rusher for the Ohio State Buckeyes has revealed his plans for 2024.

Jack Sawyer has stated his intention to return to Ohio State for his senior year. Here’s what he accomplished during his first three seasons.

His freshman season:

Sawyer, a five-star prospect for the 2021 season, has committed to Ohio State. During his true freshman season, he appeared in six games. He finished with 11 tackles, three sacks, and one forced fumble.

His sophomore season:

Sawyer appeared in 13 games as a sophomore and tied for first in sacks. He finished with 24 tackles, 6.5 sacks, and one pass deflection.

His junior season:

Sawyer burst onto the scene as a junior, leading the team in sacks. He recorded 48 tackles, 10 sacks, two pass deflections, and two forced fumbles.

Here’s what Jack Sawyer had to say about their recent two losses and how they might affect their future plans:

“I think a lot of us all are on the same page about we don’t want to end our Ohio State careers like this,” Sawyer said after Ohio State’s Cotton Bowl loss to Missouri, in which he recorded three sacks. “Two tough losses. We all love it here. We love Coach Day. We love the staff. And sometimes unfortunate things happen and you don’t get the outcome you want, and I think it’s going to play a big factor in our decisions.”

Will the Ohio State Buckeyes win the Big 10 next year?

The Big Ten Conference will grow to 18 clubs and eliminate divisions. The Big 10 will gain four new teams. The Oregon Ducks, UCLA Bruins, USC Trojans, and Washington Huskies are among them.
