Breaking: Lions aiming at resigning CB

The Detroit Lions are returning with a defensive back that saw only two snaps in 2023.

According to ESPN, veteran cornerback Emmanuel Moseley is returning to Detroit on a one-year contract. Moseley has suffered two severe injuries in the last couple of seasons.

After damaging his ACL in 2022, Moseley spent the 2023 season recuperating an ACL tear in his other knee. The soon-to-be 28-year-old was slated to fight for the cornerback position opposite Cam Sutton last season.

Injuries caused the defensive backs unit to fall short of Aaron Glenn’s expectations. Deshea Townsend was brought in to help improve the defensive backs’ performance. Dre Bly and Brian Duker are no longer with the organization, since the coaching staff has hired new defensive players.

“When I get in the room, I tell the young guys it’s your job to take the starters’ job, and the starters, it’s your job to hold them off,” Townsend said in an interview with the Free Press.

“And it’s the same thing with coaching. You have to make sure you’re doing your best at all times; you have to prove yourself on a daily basis, and I wouldn’t expect anything less from myself than I do from them.”
