Breaking: Jim Irsay gives a “tough” message to four-time All-Pro amid a shocking cut

Four-time All-Pro Darius Leonard received a “tough” message from Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay on Tuesday following his release from the team.

Using his X account, Leonard revealed to the team that he was leaving.

The Colts, who are still in the running for the playoffs, made the shocking cut in Week 12. Leonard has expressed his displeasure with the Colts’ lack of playing time for him this year. However, it was shocking when Leonard was let go by the Colts three weeks after the trade deadline.

Indianapolis Colts owner sends message after cut

Irsay sent out a message on X shortly after Leonard said him farewell. It was described as a “tough business” by Irsay:

“Colts Nation will always remember The Maniac’s palpable energy on the field with each tackle, interception, punchout and fumble recovery. Off the field, he’s a servant leader and assisted numerous families in both his hometown and the Indianapolis community. We’re thankful for Shaq and the contributions he made to our organization. We wish him and his beautiful family the best moving forward.”

After publicly sparring with running back Jonathan Taylor this summer, Irsay stated that the league would continue without them. It was important to take note of what he said in this particular situation.

It will be intriguing to watch Leonard’s waiver situation. The Colts, though, seem to be aware that they will miss him in Indianapolis.
