Breaking: Ipswich Town Considering Move For £24 Million-Rated Ace

After been promoted to the Premier League for the first time in 22 years, Ipswich Town will immediately begin working to strengthen its first-team roster in the hopes of remaining in the top tier.

The Tractors Boys were the first club in over a decade, since Nigel Adkins’ Southampton, to win consecutive Premier League promotions. Kieran McKenna’s side achieved it in style, finishing as the Championship’s top goalscorers, one point behind eventual championship winners Leicester City.

Kieran Maguire, a football finance expert, ran the figures on the club’s feat this week, claiming that Ipswich Town received £37 million in the 2001/02 season after being relegated from the top flight of English football. However, due to the financial development of the modern game, the East Anglian club will “likely” receive £150 million in the 2024/25 season, regardless of whether they remain in the league or not.

With this additional money, which appeared out of reach a year ago, Ipswich now has a little more wiggle room in the transfer market to bring in Premier League-caliber players.

Armando Broja, a Chelsea centre forward, is rumored to be on the club’s list. According to Simon Phillips’ exclusive Substack story, Ipswich is a likely destination for the Albania international, with Chelsea willing to let him move permanently this summer.

After failing to make an impact at Stamford Bridge, the 22-year-old was loaned to Fulham, where he has yet to score a goal in seven games. He’s likely to quit the Blues in the coming months.

Back in January, it was believed that Chelsea had set a £50 million price tag on the frontman because he still has four years left on his contract, but his current market worth is £24 million, according to Transfermarkt, which may be a more accurate indication of his talent.

Kieffer Moore had a brief but excellent loan stay at Ipswich Town before returning to Bournemouth, leaving McKenna in need of another striker. His recruitment has been spot-on thus far, so if he believes he can get the most out of Broja, the club should support him.
