Breaking: Georgia Bulldogs Sign Huge Commitment From Highly-Touted QB

Under head coach Kirby Smart, the Georgia Bulldogs continue to prosper in recruiting.

Even in the new era of college football, Smart has been able to regularly recruit — and frequently retain — some of the nation’s greatest talent.

Many SEC clubs have experienced change this offseason, but Kirby Smart will manage the Georgia Bulldogs for the ninth straight season. Smart has led the Bulldogs to 13 or more wins over the last three seasons, resulting in two national championships. The Bulldogs’ dominance on the Georgia football recruiting trail has allowed them to accumulate wins and awards.

Smart and the Bulldogs have the top-ranked recruiting class in 2024, according to 247Sports. Georgia, on the other hand, has a lot of ground to make up in the Class of 2025, since it is now rated eighth and has only five commits.

But, in true UGA fashion, Smart and his staff struck gold again on Saturday, securing a commitment from one of the top quarterbacks in the 2026 class.

Georgia Bulldogs Land Commitment From 4-Star Highly Touted QB Jared Curtis

Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs received a formal commitment from Curtis on Saturday. The Nashville native had received offers from Ohio State, Alabama, and Tennessee, and many recruiting analysts predicted he would go to Columbus.

A strong-armed quarterback prospect with moxie. As a ninth student, he stood approximately 6-foot-3 and weighed 215 pounds. I began my football career as a running back before moving on to center. He quickly found success in his new position, receiving Mr. Football runner-up honors in Tennessee following a freshman season in which he won 10 games and totaled just over 2,750 yards of offense.

According to 247 Sports’ scouting report, Jared Curtis is not afraid to dial up the deep ball and connects on numerous vertical shoots. Also good at hitting timing-based breakaway routes across the middle. Shouldn’t be considered a real dual-treat player, but he can move the chains with his legs and work off-script when the pocket closes.

His camp footage captures both tempo and touch. Must continue to grow and learn how to read the difficult defenses he will encounter at the next level, but appears to be one of the best signal callers early in the 2026 cycle. Because of his diverse skill set, he is likely to succeed in a variety of offensive schemes.

This all sounds ideal for the Georgia Bulldogs, who have a crowded quarterback room but plenty of talent to compete and keep them at the top of the SEC.

In 2023, Jared Curtis led Nashville Christian to the semifinals of Tennessee’s Division II-A playoffs, finishing 6-7. He completed 180 of 321 pass attempts (56.1%) for 2,522 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions, and added 543 yards and 13 touchdowns as a rusher, averaging 5.4 yards per carry.
