Kedon Slovis, a former BYU football quarterback, was selected in the 2024 United Football League Draft.

The D.C. Defenders selected Slovis in the second round after he spent one season as BYU’s starting quarterback. He was the 12th overall pick in the UFL Draft.

Slovis was the third quarterback chosen in the UFL draft. The first two quarterbacks drafted ahead of him were also from Big 12 programs, with Kansas’ Jason Bean going first overall to the Memphis Showboats and UCF’s Jon Rhys Plumlee going third to the Arlington Renegades.

Slovis was undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft this past April after one year at BYU, but later signed with the Indianapolis Colts. He’s preparing to compete in the Colts’ training camp, which begins later this month.

However, depending on how things go with the Colts and the NFL, Slovis will have an opportunity in the UFL this spring.

Slovis passed for 11,689 yards in five years of collegiate football at USC, Pitt, and BYU.

Slovis had 1,716 passing yards in eight starts at BYU last year. Due to injury, he missed the final four regular-season games, and BYU went 0-4 without him.

The UFL is preparing to launch its second season in 2025. Last year marked the first year since the XFL and USFL merged.
