Former Alabama Crimson Tide linebacker Mack Wilson has signed a three-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the former Alabama standout linebacker has signed with the Arizona Cardinals.

“Source: Former Patriots linebacker Mack Wilson has agreed to terms with the Cardinals on a three-year, $12.75 million contract worth up to $15 million.” Rapoport comments, “More defense help.”

The Cleveland Browns took the Crimson Tide player with the 155th overall choice in the 2019 NFL Draft, and he instantly demonstrated why he should have been selected sooner. Wilson ended his debut season with 82 tackles (second on the team) in 14 starts.

Wilson was transferred to the Patriots in 2022 when the contract of fellow former Crimson Tide linebacker Dont’a Hightower expired. Despite being healthy, Wilson only started four of his 34 games with New England. During that time, he recorded 73 tackles, six for loss, five sacks, four pass breakups, and three forced fumbles.

In his first season with the Cardinals, the 26-year-old from Montgomery, Alabama, hopes to play right away. Arizona has been hunting for answers for quite some time, having only finished above.500 once in the previous six seasons, with a 4-13 record in each of the prior two.

Wilson started for the Crimson Tide in both 2017 and 2018. In those 26 games, he had 105 total tackles, including seven for loss, seven pass breakups, six interceptions, one sack, and a score.

Wilson is the Cardinals’ first Crimson Tide product heading into next season. He is also the fourth former Alabama standout to be extended or signed somewhere on Monday, following Landon Dickerson, Josh Jacobs, and Xavier McKinney, who have joined the Green Bay Packers.
