Breaking: Blues striker sets for exit

Werder Bremen is expected to sell former Celtic striker Oli Burke, as the nomadic attacker seeks a new club.

Burke is returning to his parent club after an unsuccessful loan spell at Birmingham City, which resulted in the Blues being relegated to League One. However, he is expected to be sold.

According to Deichstube, the former RB Leipzig and Nottingham Forest attacker plans to join a new club during the summer transfer window.

Burke, 27, will now hunt for his twelfth club, hoping to find one that will allow him to play on a regular basis. With him and his partner expecting, it’s likely that the player’s agency will be looking at options in England.

Burke originally impressed while on loan in the second half of the 2018/19 season, playing through the middle. Burke had some good traits, such as pace, power, and determination, but he missed a few easy chances throughout his time with Rangers, Aberdeen, and Livi.

The ex-£15 million man showed flashes of his potential while playing superb football at Celtic, but when Rodgers left, Neil Lennon did not appear to fancy the Scotland international. Burke scored four goals in nineteen games for Glasgow Celtic, helping them complete the Treble Treble.
