Breaking: Birmingham City pushing interest in Sevilla forward

Birmingham City are reportedly interested in Sevilla forward Musa Drammeh.

The Blues are not the only team reportedly interested in the 22-year-old forward, who has continued to impress for the La Liga club’s ‘B’ team. Drammeh has scored ten goals and three assists in 31 games for Sevilla. This season, Atletico gained promotion to Spain’s third tier.

There were numerous allegations that Sunderland were unsuccessful with two approaches for the forward during the January transfer window, and Football Insider claims the Black Cats are still interested as they prepare their summer dealing. Cardiff City is also interested in Drammeh, who was born in Barcelona and appears to be moving to England in the near future.

After joining Sevilla in the summer of 2022 after a spell with Extremadura, Drammeh now appears set to move on once more as his current contract expires this summer, making him available on a free transfer if Birmingham, Sunderland, or Cardiff decide to make a firm move for his services.

Baggies take Premier League defender on trial

West Bromwich Albion’s primary focus remains on securing a spot in the Championship play-offs on the last day of the season.

As of Saturday’s home game against Preston North End, Carlos Corberan’s side is in fourth and final spot in the play-offs, and a win will keep their Premier League chances alive. Three points, along with a Norwich City defeat at relegation-threatened Birmingham, would see the Baggies take fifth position; however, a defeat might allow Hull City to sneak into the top six if they win at Plymouth Argyle.

However, recruitment efforts are ongoing, and according to the Express and Star, Everton defender Ed Jones played for the Baggies Under-21s in a 4-2 victory over Leeds United on Monday night. The 19-year-old centre-back has been a regular for the Toffees in Premier League 2 this season, but he is expected to look for a new club next season, as his current contract at Goodison Park expires in June.
