Alabama had an intriguing Sunday with its two big sports teams.

Alabama Loses A Star Safety

On3.com’s Hayes Fawcett reports, “Alabama safety Peyton Woodyard has committed to Oregon.”

Woodyard, from Bellflower, California, was one of the top high school safety prospects in 2024. The 6-foot-2 safety enrolled early at Alabama this winter, and following his first spring ball season, he hit the gateway.

Dan Lanning Once Was an Alabama Coach

Dan Lanning, Oregon’s head coach, was the Crimson Tide’s defensive graduate assistant in 2015, but he rose to prominence in the college football world after becoming Georgia’s defensive coordinator in 2019. He was the defensive coordinator when the Bulldogs defeated Alabama in the 2021 National Championship.

Lanning was speculated to be one of the coaches the program would pursue after Nick Saban retired, however he stated that he would remain in Eugene, and Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer would be named the Crimson Tide’s new coach.

Oregon Is Building A PowerHouse

This season, the Ducks will make their Big Ten debut, and they will not be taken lightly. Oregon will be one of the greatest teams in college football this season, with a chance to win the Big Ten championship in their first season in the conference.
