Breaking: Alabama have lost ex top 35 recruit to the transfer portal

The Alabama Crimson Tide finished their season with a Rose Bowl loss to Michigan.

Another wave of players has entered the transfer site since the season officially concluded. Terrence Ferguson, an offensive lineman, has indicated his intention to enter the transfer portal.

Alabama Loses OL Terrence Ferguson To The Transfer Portal

Ferguson was the class of 2021’s number two IOL. The redshirt sophomore was one of the nation’s greatest reserve lineman. In 2023, he appeared in six games, including his first career start versus USF. Ferguson did suffer a high ankle sprain, which sidelined him for a while and likely reduced his playing time. Ferguson is the fourth Alabama athlete to enter the transfer portal following the bowl game loss.

Concern For Nick Saban?

Losing athletes is never a nice thing, but this is the reality of college football in 2024.Players, particularly quality backups, seek more playing time and are willing to brave the transfer portal. Ferguson would almost certainly be a starter in most schools, but Alabama’s depth makes it impossible. He quickly becomes one of the main targets for teams looking to improve their offensive line. For Nick Saban, it means having to coach up some other lineman, something he has done well in Tuscaloosa.

Can Alabama win a national championship again in 2024? They are always in the mix under Saban.
