Braves’ Raisel Iglesias reacts to losing combined no-hitter with one out against Mets

On Saturday, the Atlanta Braves won, but the New York Mets disrupted their combined no-hitter when JD Martinez homered in the ninth inning.

Atlanta put up a magnificent performance on the mound, but Raisel Iglesias allowed the home run after coming in for the save. Now, Iglesias discusses his emotions to losing the no-hitter.

According to Jorge Castillo of ESPN, the Braves are primarily concerned about winning. Surprisingly, Raisel Iglesias says that he had no idea his team was pitching a no-hitter.

“When the game was over and I entered the clubhouse, they asked whether I knew there was a no-hitter. I honestly didn’t know.

It’s strange that Iglesias was unaware there was a no-hitter going on. That’s equivalent to joining a game without knowing the score. However, Iglesias may have been allowed to play more freely as a result. He looked solid through the first two outs until throwing a duck down the middle to JD Martinez.

Brian Snitker, the Braves manager, was not concerned about losing the no-hitter. The only thing that truly matters is winning. Atlanta is only two games behind the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League East. But it’s a bad they couldn’t achieve the no-hitter, as the franchise hasn’t had one since 1994.

“‘It’s difficult to throw a no-hitter,’ Snitker admitted. ‘We have a lengthy season. “It’s more about winning the game than throwing a no-hitter.”

The Braves hope to sweep the Mets on Sunday if they can win another game. Watch the fight live on Sunday, May 12 at 7:10 p.m. Eastern.

Can the Braves win another title?

The Braves won the World Series in 2021 and hope to do so again soon. Atlanta has a deep roster with the talent to go the far. However, nothing is guaranteed in baseball.

They’ve taken some significant hits early this season, particularly after Spencer Strider had a season-ending injury. Some players, such as Ronald Acuña Jr. and Matt Olson, have struggled to get going this season. So, while facing some early challenges, the Braves remain in contention for the NL East.

The good news is that there is still plenty of time left in the regular season, and the Braves appear to be a legitimate contender once again. We can anticipate Atlanta to be in contention for a Wild Card position late in the season. However, they have a good chance of winning their division and defeating Philadelphia. It’ll be intriguing to see when the Braves get going at the plate. Once that happens, this team will be nearly invincible.
