During the All-Star break, the Braves made a roster move by outrighting Brian Anderson to Triple-A Gwinnett, causing many to speculate about the resulting move.

Today, the club announced that outfielder Ramon Leaureano had been reinstated from the injured list.

Ideally, Michael Harris II would have returned from the injured list, but Laureano is still an improvement over the Braves’ outfield.

In 11 games and 25 plate appearances for Atlanta, Laureano is hitting.257 with one home run and five doubles, for a.714 OPS. He’s batting 5% below league average (95 wRC+), but that’s still a significant departure from what the Braves were using in the outfield following the injuries to Ronald Acuna Jr. and Michael Harris II.

The Braves are hoping Eddie Rosario, Adam Duvall, and Ramon Laureano can provide enough in the coming weeks before the trade deadline. These players are best suited for bench and platoon duties, and they will be demoted when Alex Anthopoulos adds one or more outfielders before the deadline.
