Braves go with their usual lineup as key man returns

Chadwick Tromp got the start on Sunday and now Travis d’Arnaud is back in the lineup. Business as usual.

The Atlanta Braves and Seattle Mariners are prepared to begin their next series of baseball, and we now have the lineups filed by both teams.

As this is a Braves blog, let’s start by discussing how the Braves will appear tonight:

As expected, the Braves will wear their normal uniform for the series opener. The lone change from yesterday’s stunning walk-off victory over Cleveland is Travis d’Arnaud’s return to the lineup following a Sunday off. There isn’t much previous data to go on for this Braves lineup vs. Seattle starter Bryce Miller, so I’ll just point out that Atlanta currently has the second-best team wRC+ in baseball (123, one point behind the Dodgers) and the best team wOBA (.353). Long may it continue!

Now here’s a look at how the Mariners are shaping up for tonight’s contest:

Although Josh Rojas has been the talk of the town out there in the Pacific Northwest, Scott Servais looks to be sticking with the notion of a platoon at third base, so Luis Urías is in the lineup and batting eighth for Seattle today. Due to Rojas’ absence, Julio Rodríguez now leads off the lineup. Although Rodríguez has had a sluggish start this season, he remains a dangerous part of the squad tonight.

Tonight’s game can be seen on Bally Sports South, heard on 93.7/680 The Fan, and streamed on MLB.tv.
