Braves go with the standard platoon choices in the series opener against Marlins

Miami is starting a lefty, which means that Adam Duvall and David Fletcher are in the lineup.

Both clubs recently announced their lineups for tonight’s series opener at Truist Park. The Atlanta Braves are sticking with their typical lineup against left-handed pitchers, and the Miami Marlins aren’t doing anything out of the ordinary. Still, it’s worth discussing, especially with a new series set to premiere this evening.

Let us not spend any more time and get straight into how the Braves are preparing for tonight’s game:

Ryan Weathers is a lefty, which means Adam Duvall and David Fletcher are now in the lineup. Neither Duvall nor Fletcher have been setting the world on fire, so it would be good to see either of them seize the opportunity to be productive while they have it. For what it’s worth, Austin Riley has hit a home run against Ryan Weathers.

On the other side of things, here’s how the Marlins are looking:

This is the same lineup that the Marlins used for their series finale in Chicago on Sunday. Miami will undoubtedly be looking for consistent performance from guys other than Bryan De La Cruz and Jazz Chisholm Jr., since the roster currently lacks a number of hot hitters.

Tonight’s game begins at 7:20 p.m. E.T. and will be broadcast on Bally Sports South and 93.7 FM/680 The Fan.
