The Atlanta Braves will undoubtedly undergo changes.

Atlanta has a legitimate chance of making a long playoff run this season and contending for a World Series win, but a successful trade deadline is required to help propel the club over the top due to the wide spectrum of ailments the club has dealt with.

The Braves are stocked on the roster, but they might use another starter after losing Spencer Strider, and the best option available may be Chicago White Sox ace Garrett Crochet.

The teenage All-Star has been terrific this season, but the White Sox are on the verge of a firesale, with Jon Heyman of the New York Post saying there is a “high” possibility he will be dealt.

“The outstanding reliever-turned-starter and Major League Baseball strikeout leader (150) presumably has some innings consideration since he’s up from 12 innings to more than 100 already,” Heyman told reporters. “He’s been connected to the (Los Angeles Dodgers), (San Diego Padres), (Baltimore Orioles), and (New York Yankees), but one source said the Yankees ‘are not too into’ him. “Trade opportunities are high.”

Crochet could be the ideal young alternative to help the Braves this season and in the future. If the White Sox are listening, the Braves should call to see how much it would take to acquire him.
