Booger McFarland rates CFP teams, but you might be surprised by Alabama’s ranking

One of the loudest advocates of Florida State qualifying for the College Football Playoffs is Booger McFarland.

He went so far as to declare that he would defend the Seminoles’ position against Alabama until his death.

This adds to the intrigue of his remarks to Greg McElroy about “Always College Football.”

After defeating No. 1 Georgia 27–24 in the SEC Championship Game, Alabama rose from No. 8 to No. 4, leaving undefeated ACC champion Florida State behind.

The former LSU standout selected the four CFP teams based on the talent on the roster and the eye test.

“Texas is one, I believe,” he declared. “I believe Alabama to be two. Michigan, in my opinion, is three. Washington, in my opinion, is four. Considering how talented their teams are and how many different ways they can defeat you.

If Florida State had advanced, he did not state where he would have placed them.

He did, however, dissect the worries of each side.

“Can you play with big-boy football?” Washington asked.

Can your back seven guard anybody, Texas?

“This is my concern if I’m Alabama,” he said. “Is it possible for (Jalen Milroe) to make enough throws if they take away the run and force the quarterback to stay in the pocket?”

Regarding Michigan: “Which J.J. McCarthy will appear?” He said that although the quarterback appeared to be an NFL quarterback for the majority of the season, he was appalling against Maryland.

McFarland predicts that Texas will prevail in the NCAA Tournament.

As soon as it was revealed on Sunday that Alabama had the No. 4 seed and would be playing No. 1 Michigan, McFarland launched an attack on the committee.

McFarland stated during the broadcast, “I think this is a mockery of the sport because we go out there and play the game.” “It doesn’t matter if it looks good at quarterback.

The goal of the game is to win, regardless of whether we win on offense or defense. This has never been done for a reason. A Power 5 conference is unbeaten and does not qualify for the playoffs.
