Bold Raiders’ NFL Draft Day Suggested Trade

The Las Vegas Raiders have the 13th overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft and have several options for what to do with it.

They could trade back in the draft to acquire more picks.

They could remain where they are in the draft and still add a quality player to their offensive line, linebacker, or cornerback rosters. Alternatively, they might trade up in the draft.

With the Raiders looking to add a quarterback, the concept of trading up in the draft will be discussed until selection day. Las Vegas has a number of open spots on their roster. Trading up is not always a good decision, but it is not impossible.

If the Raiders opt to trade up in the draft, many believe it will be for one of the top quarterbacks. However, ESPN’s Aaron Schatz believes the Raiders could make a daring deal on draft day for a top player. Schatz’s notion would be an unexpected surprise for the Raiders for a variety of reasons.

“Is [Davante] Adams happy in Las Vegas?” “He says yes, but his role may change with a new coaching staff,” Schatz explained. “It might make sense for the Raiders to move on from Adams and his big contract now that he’s turning 32 this year.”

“So, how about trying to replace Adams with prized wide receiver Harrison? A significant trade up the draft board would help the Cardinals enhance their receiving corps with Adams while also providing them the 13th overall choice to bolster their league-worst defense in 2023. The Raiders might obtain possibly the best receiver potential in years for a rookie contract salary.”

The Raiders have made it clear that they have no intention of dealing their All-Pro wide receiver. It’s practically unimaginable that they’d trade him, let alone pick his replacement, over a quarterback that high in the draft.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
