Bobby Wagner of the Seahawks explains why Lamar Jackson of the Ravens should be given more credit as a passer

The Seattle Seahawks’ upcoming Week 9 road game against the Baltimore Ravens promises to be a unique test.

The quarterback in question, Lamar Jackson, is ranked seventh in the NFL with a passer rating of 101.1. The Seahawks have given up an 85.3 passer rating in their seven games this season.

In preparation for Week 9, Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner has been watching film on Jackson, and he is not at all shocked to see how successful a passer Jackson has been this year.

In a press conference held prior to Week 9, Wagner stated, “I think his ability to make the pass is just where he’s grown the most.” He’s always been a good passer in my opinion, but it’s gotten better with time.

“I think before when he used to kind of escape, he would look to run but he’s looking to pass and he’s dangerous in the run.”

Now, Wagner is hoping that in Week 9, Seattle’s defense will be able to contain the all-around quarterback.

“I think he’s equally as dangerous in the pass and so it’s going to be one of our tougher matchups to be able to contain him and not let him just do whatever he wants,” Wagner stated.

Wagner acknowledged Jackson’s contribution to Baltimore’s red zone offense, which is among the best in the league this year. At 67.6 percent, the Ravens are currently third in the NFL in terms of red zone touchdown percentage.

It will be the first time in four years that Jackson and the Ravens aim to finish with a 7-2 record.
